Some yearly stats for the Devon & Cornwall Police site

Google Analytic have changed their terminology.

Users: - Users that have had at least one session within the selected date range. Includes both new and returning users.

Visits is now referred to as Sessions:- Total number of Sessions within the date range. A session is the period time a user is actively engaged with the website. All usage data (Screen Views, Events, Ecommerce, etc.) is associated with a session.

Page views:- Total number of pages viewed. Repeated views of a single page are counted.

2012 - 2013

Oct 1 2012 - Oct 1 2013 - Users: - 523,896
                    Sessions: - 1,022,079
                    Page views: - 2,713,575

desktop: (627,727) 61.42%
mobile: (276,681) 27.07%
tablet: (117,671) 11.51%

2011 - 2012

Oct 1 2011 - Oct 1 2012 - Users: - 353,135
                    Sessions: - 620,579
                    Page views:- 1,760,862

desktop: (500,979) 80.73%
mobile: (96,982) 15.63%
tablet: (22,618) 3.64%

Between May 22 2012 and August 8 2012 no data collected due to cookie opt out option as default. This was changed to opt in by default on the 9. Cookies are used by Google Analytic to record the number of visitors to a site.

2010 - 2011

Oct 1 2010 - Oct 1 2011 - Users: - 400,886
                    Sessions: - 718,590
                    Page views: - 2,173,595

desktop: (663,23) 92.30%
mobile: (55,354) 7.70%


Why October to October? because that was the request I got from a member of staff.
